Roadmap

uNmINeD for Minecraft 1.13+ was redesigned from scratch using some old code from the legacy version and new C# features like async/await. It’s based on .NET Core, so the command line version now can run on Linux and macOS. However, the GUI version still requires Windows 7 or later.

What to expect in the upcoming releases:

  • Image export
  • Dimensions (Nether, End, etc.)
  • Load/Save map settings
  • Configuration files for everything (map colors, custom blocks and biomes, etc.)
  • Block filter
  • Block highlighter/finder
  • Block list
  • Players
  • Waypoints
  • Structures (villages, strongholds, etc.)
  • Overlays (biomes, caves, errors, statistics, etc.)
  • Biome based coloring
  • Rendering using in-game textures
  • Map tile cache (for fast zoom out)
  • Chunk data viewer
  • Support for older Minecraft versions from 1.2 to 1.12.2

  1. I can only just wish for an option for the CLI to export images as PNG/WebP (or JPEG with higher quality) for web maps. I have a really small world and don’t need that much compression. The JPEG quality is really quite low.

    Oh, and the new experimental shadows look gorgeous, I’d love them as well. 😍

  2. Thank you for this great tool and further development! I think the planned functions are all very useful! Especially a map of the Nether would be very exciting. And if the waypoints a visible in both dimensions… 🙂

    An additional point I would still like: The vertical section can be controlled wonderfully with the Slicer. If you could also increase the height with one button and control with another button down. This height-level control by keyboard would help a lot with construction projects.

    And maybe: By switching from 1.13 to the version 1.14 I delete a lots of region files so that the villages far away from my home and the jungles can created new. And that the backup file ist a lot smaller. Maybe that ist a idea for another function.

  5. I’ve been running a realm for over 2 years and it’s a big world with lots of locations I want to mark. I can’ wait for the option to save locations, and for those locations toavailable via the Google maps version so that my players can see if on my realms website.

  8. I’ve tested your work with my world just for curiosity and it works pretty nice. Maybe son performance issues in gui mode when loading chunks, but I love how it renders the world.

    I hope that the work keeps going and see dimensions map. And it could be fine be able to change max visible layer, to just prepare maps of ground levels.

  9. I love the program, my son and I use it very very often. You have amazing talent and there’s nothing else like this anywhere. The only thing we miss is the Nether, but I see that is on your list. I hope you keep going !!

  10. It’s been almost 4 months since this Roadmap was laid out—is there any update on things? As a developer I totally realize that things take time, and for free software we’re not owed anything, so I don’t want to apply any pressure at all.

  11. sorry if this is a simple question but new to all this 😉 So those that use this program can render a map from a multiplayer generated world ? Friend has it on a off site server?

      Change the –world parameter to the path of your Minecraft world.
